This was a very relaxed meeting showing pictures of our workshop at Wharepuke with John Perkins.
We had a surprise birthday celebration for Denis who was at a significant age (!).

Topic
We will be discussing the pro’s and con’s of digital editing/manipulation and possible ethics. This can be anything from a simple ‘levels’ change or any preparation to get it ready for printing to cloning, merging etc.
On this subject everyone to be an expert and we would like each person to let us know their thoughts on this matter.
For those who use editing programs: what do you use? What do you do? If you would like to give a demonstration that would be great. Bring a laptop if you like. Laptops will be there. One will have Lightroom, Photoshop CS3 and Pro Show Gold. If you would like to bring examples of some work that would be good also.

Frank Habicht will talk to us. Frank is from Paihia and is an internationally known photographer who has worked in London and Berlin and published extensively in New Zealand and Europe.

Whangarei Club will be holding a multi-draw raffle to cover costs of hiring the kitchen, lounge area and hall.
This is usually a good night, enjoyable, good food, meet other photographers and usually learn heaps.

Remember, a fee of $3 is collected on club nights. This covers the cost of refreshments, hall hire and puts you in the draw for digital photo paper.

Club Competition – Information on Photographs
When we present pictures for our Club Competitions could we put on the back of the photograph the camera settings. e.g. Type of Camera, ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture. Type of lens.
Note from Denis – I occasionally put one of my photos on the club website but any member is welcome to contribute a photo for addition to the site. Send it to me at denis@deniswilford.com as a jpg no wider than 400px.
