Denis gave us an informative talk on flash photography. It was a great mixture of talk, visual presentation (PowerPoint) and practical. Thanks Denis it was great. A lot of background work went into it I am sure.
John Perkins Workshop
We had a great day at Wharepuke on Monday (Sept 7) where John talked about our approach to photography.
We discussed different ways of taking shots, such as distance, light and perspective. Also having in our mind what we are trying to achieve and why we are taking this particular photograph. Time was spent putting this into practice then critiquing our work on computers. The day was very enjoyable plus heightened our awareness of photography.
Some money was generated from this for the camera club funds. Thanks John

We have still to select photos for the Northern Interclub Competition ‘Song Title’, if anyone still has photos to submit for this it is still open and most welcome.
Topic
This is fairly open. We will discuss what we learnt from John workshop. Have open discussion of photography in general, (bring questions). If anyone has any pearls of wisdom on photography they would like share with us that would be lovely.
Club night fees
Remember, a fee of $3 is collected on club nights. This covers the cost of refreshments, hall hire and puts you in the draw for digital photo paper.

Club Competition – Information on Photographs
When we present pictures for our Club Competitions could we put on the back of the photograph the camera settings. e.g. Type of Camera, ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture. Type of lens.
