Last Meeting 9 July 09 at Kerikeri
I didn’t get to the last meeting but I hear it was well attended relaxed and informative where people asked and answered questions in an informal way.
Happening at Wharepuke
We had an informal happening at Wharepuke which was fun. Many that were there that day popped back another day to get more shots. The native pigeons were the challenge for many.
Coming Meeting
Date: 13 August 09
Time: 7 pm
Place: Cherry Park House, Waipapa Landing, Kerikeri
Competition: ‘Song Title’
Photos from these will be used in the Northern Interclub Compt., see 14th Oct, so bring as many photos as you like although only 3 can be used for our own Club competition but we need lots to choose the 10 for the Interclub competition.
Topic – Workshop, sort of
Denis will talk to us about flash photography. Bring your cameras and any flash equipment you may have such as ‘SpeedLite’, not the studio flash. Note from Denis- this talk and practical exercises will be using the pop-up flash since I don’t have an external flash unit so can’t very well talk about those. The talk and exercises apply to external units as well but if you have only the pop-up flash then this is for you.
Coming Workshop with John Perkins
We are having a workshop day at Wharepuke Subtropical Accommodation, 190 Kerikeri Road, Kerikeri, www.accommodation-bay-of-islands.co.nz sometime at the end of August. Date to be arranged. We will discuss this at the next meeting. Think about this and what you would like from the workshop. We will discuss this at the next meeting.
I envisage it going all day. Mornings are great for photography there but the sun is lost in the late afternoon.
I image people going as early as they like to take photos. We will having a central area to have our workshop, eat, store gear etc., in one of the cottages.
We could have a charge for a supplied lunch and any left over money going to the camera club. John is not charging for his expertise. I image others will contribute their knowledge also and make it a general swapping of knowledge. Let’s discuss at our next meeting what people can contribute as far as gear and knowledge that would add to the day.
Club night fees
Remember, a fee of $3 is collected on club nights. This covers the cost of refreshments, hall hire and puts you in the draw for digital photo paper.
